We're having a planting party on one of  the  sunniest slopes our fields have to offer.   it starts this afternoon and ends when we see an inch of snow accumulation on the ground thurs night.   we're putting in lettuce, potatoes and peas.  come by if you've got the time and inclination.

this a great opportunity for you to engage other folks in the working landscape, to demonstrate that undeveloped land generates value. all kinds of value.    so bring your friends!

email me at www.firstlightfarmcsa@gmail.com if you want to scheduel your arrival.

The first picture shows our first trial of using horse manure to warm air which is then circulated through the hoophouse to keep the night temperatures above freezing.  Imagine what our hoophouse smells like.

We've barely gotten our winter flooding/drainage problem fixed, and  Suddenly our hoophouse crops need to be irrigated and ventilated!   Nevertheless, this season's early crops are doing well.  We expect a glorious spring harvest.
