Flavor: A relative of cabbage, broccoli has a slightly spicier flavor
Benefits: High in vitamins C, K and A, broccoli is also high in dietary fiber. It also contains many anti-cancer compounds!
Storage: Broccoli is best used within a few days. Store in the hydrator drawer of the refrigerator.
Cooking and Preparation: Soak the head upside down in cold, salted water to remove any hidden field pests. Broccoli can be eaten raw, steamed, or sauteed. It is important not to overcook broccoli as that will dramatically reduce the nutrient level. Steamed broccoli is delicious topped with butted, a squeeze of lemon juice or your favorite grated cheese.
