What CSA means to Farmers:
With Community Supported Agriculture, farmers know that their crops are already sold. We can devote more energy to growing food and less energy trying to sell it. Because we know who will be eating our vegetables each week, we have strong incentive to do our best for them. It's hard to look someone in the eye knowing we gave them rotten cabbage last week. And how can we except anyone to tell their friends about us if we've made them ill?
CSA is a relationship based way of doing business. People matter. It is a lot more rewarding to grow and share vegetables with our dedicated members, than it is to grow produce to send off to the warehouse.
Really, the way I see it, CSA transforms our crops from saleable commodities into shareable gifts. Your appreciation is our motivation.

What CSA means for You:
You EAT very fresh produce--Much of it harvested just hours before you pick it up. By nature of CSA's tight producer/consumer relationship, we have the luxury of growing garden variety vegetables that are harvested when ripe, not when they are ready to be packed/shipped/stored.
You KNOW where your food comes from--and how it was grown. We encourage discussion regarding our production methods.
You SUPPORT our local economy--Your investment helps keep money and other resources recirculating among members of our own community. Local self-reliance reduces our dependency upon external inputs and their inherent waste.
You PARTICIPATE in a movement--One where local people have a say over what would otherwise be left to unconscious market forces. In deciding how our local resources are best allocated for long term community vitality, we embrace E.F. Schumacher's challenge:
