Mike

Originally from Beverly, Mike brings over 15 years of organic farming experience to your table, w/seasons farming in VT, MA, AR, and CT.  Having sold produce through CSA, farm stands, farmer's markets, and wholesale, he thinks CSA has the greatest potential to engage the community in the working landscape

Zach

Picture
First Light Farm brought in Zach in the first round of the 2010 farm draft. He knows his way around an engine, a timber frame, a biological farm, and perhaps most passionately, around his 28' wooden sailboat, a classic New Haven Sharpie.  He has the attitude that we can do anything.

Caitlin

Originally from Ipswich, Caitlin has traveled the world studying sustainable agriculture and how it has helped the communities she has visited. Happy to be back in her own community, she feels proud to be able to have the chance to grow high quality, organic produce in the place she considers home.

Christian

Originally from Beverly, Christian has spent many long days canoeing the Allagash river with Mike. Those adventures, and growing up with gardens brings him to First Light Farm many afternoons to lend a hand. Christian enjoys digging in the dirt after his day job in the machine shop.

Charlie

Picture
Charlie, our farm handyman, a guy who is family and friend to everyone he meets.  Charlie has led the construction of our greenhouses for the last two seasons, and was instrumental in vege distribution in '09.  I think he comes to First Light Farm to escape the goats, chickens, and herd of german short haired pointers he shepherds back on the homestead.  He can make a rabbit taste just like chicken they say.

Michael

Born in rural Louisiana & raised on the south shore, Michael went to college for Conservation Biology and has been bartending ever since.  Still behind the bar at night, Michael is at First Light Farm to get dirty working and learn the ropes of farming that he can one day have his own sustainable community oriented farm.
