The share will have some ripe tomatoes, and some lesser ripe ones. The intention is that you'll have some that are perfect for eating tonite, and others that will be great in several days. just keep them on the counter out of the direct sun. as they ripen, there may be a soft spot or crack/leak, particularly with the heirlooms - (generally pink, and soft skinned, some with dark shoulders) anyways, just cut the soft spot out, the rest will be delicious.
The heirloom varieties include cherokee purple, brandywine, firstlight, and black trifle.
Although the tomatoes are loving it the dry weather, the lack of rain has made it difficult to produce greens such as lettuce and arugula. it has also been a challenge to establish our fall crops. as the first photo shows, we are not giving up!
